MetaWork Design Engine – Canvas

Canvas

This is the most important part of design engine. It is a preview for all added layers/elements. Select an element to edit or drag to a new location.

The Canvas includes:

  • Object editor: Customize the selected object color and effect.

  • Zoom tools: Scroll to zoom in or zoom out.

  • Stages switcher: switch between different print areas (eg, front/back, left/right sleeve, etc.)

  • Design area: Image printing boundaries

  • Toolbar: The options for selected layers include arrangement, transform, and position.

Image Toolbar

1. Replace Image

Upload an image from your device to replace the image in the current layer.

 
2. Crop Image

The crop image feature allows you to crop the image, to exclude portions of it.

 
3. Image Mask

This allows you to put a background into your text.

 
4. Remove Background

Works well for images with clear contrast.

 
5. Image Filter Effects

Start with 20 of our professionally designed filters, then customize to your own liking.

 

Layout Toolbar

There are four options on the right toolbar that allow you to customize the picture position, transform, and color. To enable the layout toolbar, click on an image, and it’ll appear on the top of the design editor.

 
1. Fill Color

Shape, image, and text are the three objects that you can apply this fill option.

Follow these steps to work with the tool:

  1. Drag your mouse to select the layer you want to fill color.

  2. Click on the Fill Color icon on the toolbar.

  3. Select a color from preset colors or enter a custom value by click on input Click to choose color.

  4. To save custom color just press the plus (+) button next to add.

  5. Transparent help you change the opacity of the filled color.

  6. Stroke width + Stroke color allow you to make the border color for the current layer.

 
2. Arrange Layers
The Design Engine works base on layers. Quickly arrange the selected object position either backward or forward.

Follow these steps to work with this tool:

  1. Chose the layer you want to change.

  2. Click on the Arrange Layers icon on the toolbar.

  3. Select Forward or Back action to change the object order.

 
3. Position
The Layer Position tool allows you to place the selected object in an exact position with one click. Switch the Lock object position to YES, if you want to continue design without affect the current object.

Follow steps to work with this tool:

  1. Select the layer you want to move
  2. Click on the Position icon on the toolbar

  3. Choose the position you wish to move the layer to. 
4. Transform Tool
Provides a manual way to set transform values for a layer.

Follow these steps to use this tool:

  1. Chose the layer you want to change.
  2.  Click on the Transform icon on the toolbar.
  3. Adjust the values you want to set.

You can:

  1. Rotate: the edge of an object. start from 0 – 360

  2. Skew X: skews layer along the X-axis by the given angle

  3. Skew Y: skews layer along the Y-axis by the given angle

  4. Flip X: Horizontal flip your layer

  5. Flip Y: Vertical flip your layer.

     

    You can cancel all applied values by pressing the Reset All button.

 

Text Toolbar

Select any text layer and this toolbar will appear on top of the canvas.

1. Font Family Allows you to switch to another font family.

 
2. Advanced Font

This tool allows you to change the font-size, line-height and text content

 
3. Text Effects

Select a text and choose the Text Effect icon to customize it.

 
4. Text Style

Tools for bold, underline, italic, or text-align.

 

Menu

The navigation bar located in the top left corner..

 
1. File
  • Import file: Import design from your local which you exported from Lumise.

  • Clear all: Clear current design to empty.

  • Save to My Designs: Save your current design to My Designs.

  • Save as file: current export content on design area to a file

 
2. My Designs

This function manages all of your designs on your current account. You can duplicate, edit, and delete any saved design.
